About Us

Stillmeadow Crossing Modular Train Group
Our Group was formed in September 2009. We had about 8 guys that talked about trains for several years, whenever we saw each other. Finally we decided to start a Christian Men’s group for guys who love God, Fellowship and Trains. We started by going to each other’s homes and seeing members train layouts, we also went to train shows and other train related sites.
In May 2010, we decided to build an O scale modular train layout, that we could set up at church and take to other places to promote our love for God and Trains. We hope to be able to use this layout as an outreach to the community and to set up in Children’s Hospitals, Nursing Homes and other places where people would enjoy seeing trains, that might not otherwise get to see them.
In Jan. 2011, we ran our first train in Gregg Smith’s garage with a kerosene heater keeping us warm. This was a great day, that we all worked hard to see happen for over 6 months of construction.
In March 2011, we set up the entire layout for the first time in the Sprenkle House on our church campus.  This was our first full session where we ran full length trains on all three tracks. Since then, we’ve ballasted all the units, added the plexiglass shield to keep the trains from being damaged and had skirts made for each unit.
Everything you see in the layout today has been donated by the members of the group. The trains are owned by the individual members. Each member stores and transports his own module to the event.
We are accepting donations to help with the Needs of the Group:
Train Staging Yard & Switches (Cost $1200.00)
Enclosed Trailer to store and transport modules in. (Cost $2500.00)
A Building space to set up the layout in & leave the layout up while we work on scenery.
More members to build additional modules and join us.
For more information or to make a donation contact Rick Dodd 717-350-5305 email:Rdoddetters@aol.com
We hope you enjoyed the trains and may God bless you today! Thank You!

  1. Hello: I am trying to contact Steve, last name unknown. My fellow train friend and I talked to Steve at the April TCA meeting and promised to provide him with a video of the Stillmeadow layout. I now have the DVD and if you would please have Steve send me an email at: ljkaetzel@ebiks.com so that I can deliver to him.
    Thanks,
